Agagu casket crash: Lagos state to begin DNA today

Barely 24 hours after the ill-fated Associated Airline plane crashed at the Joint User Hydrant Installation, JUHI, Muritala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos state government is set to commence the Deoxyribonucleic Acid, DNA test today. 

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the capturing exercise for the children and siblings of the victims to identify the dead will hold at the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH and will end tomorrow  October 6, 2013.The exercise which is expected to commence at about 10am and end 6pm on both days will assist the state government identify bodies that were burnt beyond recognition.Effort to speak with the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris and the Chief Pathologist, Professor John Obafunwa proved abortive.
Street urchins however, yesterday invaded the crash site to scavenge for iron and aluminum parts of the plane.Though non-staff including pressmen were barred from gaining access to the site, the scavengers, Saturday Vanguard gathered, scaled the fence to gain access into the premises at the early hours of the day to search for items that could be sold.
